Sunday Markets in the Corbieres, Durban Villeseque, St Jean de Barrou, Villeneuve

Journee Bio Corbieres
Journee Bio Corbieres

A new series of Sunday Markets in the Corbieres; A moving market that shifts each Sunday between Durban Corbieres, Villeseque des Corbieres, St Jean de Barou and Villeneuve des Corbieres.

Each village by itself is unable to support a weekly market, except maybe during the height of the tourist season when all the second home and Gites are full, and maybe not even then, but they can do a monthly one. So a group of local producers have come up with the idea of doing a monthly market in each of the four visits. We are pleased as this covers a part of the Corbieres that since the cancellation of the Journee Bio Corbieres at Villeseque we have been unable to sell to.

I did the last one last Sunday in Villeneuve des Corbieres, perhaps not the best day to start as it was stormy and the rain was bouncing to knee height. But even then there was a hard core of local supporters who turned out. Luckily there was three wine makers at hand to keep us supplied with fortifying beverages. Naturally I drove home on steaming roads and beautiful sunshine.

This Sunday 27th June is in Durban Corbieres. I will be there again, unless snow is predicted.

In theory the markets run from 10ish  to 13.00
