Foire Arbres et Vivaces Maisons 20th November

The Foire Arbres et Vivaces Maisons 20th November, organised by the local Association Faisons is the second plant festival organised in Maisons in 2022. The three plant growers of Maisons, ourselves at the Domaine de Montrouch, the Jardin du Naunes and the Domaine de Piques Rouge have got together and formed the Association Faisons to promote teh nature and environment of the commune, aid new agricultural projects, and have a bit of fun. The key start is the organisation of two plant festivals in our little Commune.

The first on 24th April was a huge success with around 400 people attending, cars coming up from Narbonne and, despite the rain in the morning over 70 people having lunch. Someone got drubk enough to have to be thrown in a car and driven home, and anotehr, after trying to drive home has his car keys taken away and slept it off in his car. Not it has to be aid the best way of measuring a fete’s success, oh and the stand holders were happy with the turn out and sales. It is probably a better way to calculate.

Hopefully the second festival; with it’s emphasis on fruit and nut trees will be a similar success. All welcome, bar, hot wine, food and much more.
